Bettina Pousttchi (Ahead Only, 2012)
Bettina Pousttchi has on various occasions created works of art in public spaces. In her sculptures she often employs objects structuring the public space, such as barriers and street posts. For ART AND THE CITY she again draws on this material: street posts, mechanically deformed by large industrial presses, are placed by Limmatstrasse as groups of sculptures. Directly screwed into the tarmac, they create a strong irritation in the urban space. The objects are not immediately perceived as works of art, but first appear as traces of a performative intervention that remains mysterious and unresolved.
